Not all who wander are lost
One of my all-time favourite quotes is “Not all who wander are lost”. I think of life as a journey. A beautiful, often gruelling and sometimes arduous journey. There are times in this journey where you might encounter some tough terrain that you struggle to navigate- a mountainous climb, or a deep river to cross. Other times you might be in a shaded valley, walking easily along. And still other times you find yourself next to a river, resting your feet in the cool water- a time for resting and recharging.
You’ve likely landed on this page because you are in tough terrain at the moment. You might not be sure what direction to take, or what the next step is. Whether this is your journey as an individual, your family’s journey or your organisation’s journey, I am able to offer guidance. As your guide, I can access a wider view or different perspective on your current situation. While you might be experiencing a difficult climb, I am able to see the mountain-top you are close to reaching, and which skills you need to get there. My job is to help you find the next steps, and to select and individualise the tools you need for this specific part of your journey.
Whether you are an individual, a family or an organisation, I am happy that you’ve come across my site and would love to be your guide on this journey!

What my clients have to say
“After going to various psychologists and counselors over the years, I feel that with Karlien at last I’m making headway and that I’m with someone who understands! She is very practical and very knowledgeable and we really work through things deeply. She is also caring and empathetic. I would recommend her to anyone.”
“The workshop was so much more than I expected – I got genuine insight into what makes other people tick. More than that, I learnt things about myself. My team also greatly benefited from the workshop – at least they now understand my need for perfection – and I understand their need for patience.”
“Karlien is intuitive, wise and gracious and the experience of connecting with her and the group participants has given me an insight into myself that has improved my mental health more than I could have imagined.”
“I have greatly enjoyed working with Karlien one-on-one and in group settings for many years. Her compassion and genuine care have helped me feel comfortable enough to get into the hard work of healing and her insights and methods have added value to my therapeutic journey.”
“I have a much better awareness of my colleagues and staff, ‘what makes them tick’ as it were. Personally, I now better understand why I make decisions or behave a certain way.”
“It was a wow exercise and addressed a good few needs within our company… Understanding one’s staff is the key to getting the best out of them and the content delivered definitely will assist in improving individual productivity within our departments ”
